A storm destroyed his farmlands. Thieves raided his livestock. His once-flourishing wealth quickly disappeared. But Ayyub (A.S.) simply said:
“Allah gave it, and Allah took it. I remain grateful.”
His gratitude never changed.

A tragedy struck his home. His children, whom he loved deeply, passed away. This was a heartbreak no parent can easily bear. Yet Ayyub (A.S.) remained patient, turning to Allah in prayer.

Finally, Ayyub (A.S.) was struck with a severe illness. His body became weak, and he could no longer work or move freely. Despite the pain, he stayed grateful. His illness was not disgusting or contagious, but it made him physically weak and isolated.
Still, he never complained.

As the trials grew heavier, people from the town slowly stopped visiting him. Many believed his suffering was a punishment, which was not true. They misunderstood his situation.
But one person stayed by his side from the first day to the last —
his wife, a woman of incredible loyalty and faith. She cared for him, fed him, cleaned for him, and encouraged him with gentle words.

Ayyub’s Faith Never Shook
Years passed. His illness continued. His wealth was gone. His family was gone. People had abandoned him. But Ayyub (A.S.) never complained to Allah.

Ayyub smiled gently and said:

Ayyub’s Beautiful Dua
Eventually, Ayyub (A.S.) turned to Allah with a simple and humble dua:
“O my Lord, harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful.”
He didn’t blame anyone. He didn’t complain. He only asked Allah for mercy.

Allah Answers His Prayer
Allah answered his prayer with compassion. He told Ayyub (A.S.):
“Strike the ground with your foot.”
A spring of fresh, pure water flowed out. Ayyub washed in it and drank from it. His illness disappeared instantly. His skin healed, his strength returned, and he became healthier than before.
Allah then returned all his blessings:
- His wealth came back
- His land flourished again
- His health was restored
- His family was returned to him, and he was blessed with even more children
