Saved, but Sold into Slavery

The False Accusation
As Yusuf grew older, his beauty became famous. The wife of Al-Aziz developed feelings for him, but Yusuf (A.S.) rejected her advances. He respected his master and feared Allah, so he stayed firm.
Embarrassed by his refusal, she accused him unjustly. Yusuf was innocent, but instead of publicly exposing her, he chose patience. Even when people supported him, the situation forced him into prison to avoid scandal.
He accepted imprisonment over disobedience, showing his strong moral character.
Wisdom in the Prison
Even in jail, Yusuf’s character shined. He became known for his calmness, kindness and deep faith. Two prisoners approached him with dreams they didn’t understand. Yusuf, gifted by Allah, interpreted their dreams accurately. One of them was released and went back to serve the king.
Years later, the king himself had a confusing dream: seven fat cows eaten by seven lean cows, and seven green ears of grain and seven dry ones. No one in the kingdom could explain it.
The servant who had been in prison remembered Yusuf and informed the king. Yusuf was brought out to interpret the dream.
He explained that the dream meant seven years of good harvest followed by seven years of severe drought. He advised the king to store grain during the good years to survive the difficult period.
The king was impressed by Yusuf’s wisdom and recognised his innocence. Yusuf was cleared of all accusations and given a position of authority in Egypt.
